The End?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
This is it.

This is offiicially my last entry for the Animax LaMB Blogging Contest. I hope my viewers (if any >.>") have enjoyed all that I have to offer. It's been tremendous fun and (not to sound cocky or anything) I can't wait to see who wins this ^^"

Good luck to all my fellow competeters, and ciao for now <3

Beauty for a Price - part 2

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I did a little social experiment the past few days.

I still couldn't shake off that particular question -- would you commit a crime to stay young and beautiful?

I know I've answered this already, but this has nothing to do with that. When I asked a few friends of mine the same thing, their responses were almost similar as mine! And each time I asked, I'd always nearly get the same response: It depends really. What's the crime? Maybe to stay young, I don't know about beauty...

I was getting nowhere. The majority of answers I've recieved would always conflict against each other. People would say they'd commit the crime if they'd get to stay young forever, but not beauty, or vice versa.

So to my curiousity, I seperated the question forming two new ones: would you commit a crime to stay young? And would you commit a crime to stay beautiful/attractive?

At last, I was getting somewhere.

A total of 20 people have agreed to answer my questions.

Would you commit a crime to stay young?
6 answered YES. 14 said NO.

Would you commit a crime to stay beautiful/attractive?
4 said YES. And only 16 said NO.

Out of the 20 who've voted, only 2 have answered yes  to commiting a crime to stay both young AND beautiful.

I know this result remains inconclusive, since 20 people doesn't exactly speak out for hundreds of thousands of others. But at least this gives me idea to how far people would go for their physical appearance and longevity. Though the fact remains, we'd all do this for very different reasons, and those reasons are endless.

A HUGE amount of thanks goes my brother and sister for their help and contribution.

Existence of Lifeforms on Other Planets...?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, lookie here! I've managed to put up another entry after all lol

And today's ramblings entry will pertain to extra-terrestrial life outside of our own planet.

In LaMB, the story is set on an alien planet called Cerra (25 light-years away from Earth) which is colonized by us humans from Earth. It's a possible future, I think. That one day mankind will venture off to some other planet and call it their home.

But we're here to talk about aliens. We've seen it all before, right? In movies. Comics. Video games. Books. And other media we could possibly think of. I'll admit , from an early age I haven't been a true believer of visitors from outer space. The "Aliens" movie franchise was way too scary for me. "Species" wasn't any better. I couldn't even get though the second "Predator" movie. And "E.T." creeped me out (no offence was directed toward any fans of these films ^^")

But hey! It doesn't mean I'm not open to the idea of some form of alien life out there. The universe is a pretty big place after all, and we've --what? Only discovered just a small fraction of the area? Lol I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is some form of life out there. I just don't believe that they exist in a way we image them to be.

Y'know. Little green men with huge eyes. Flying saucers. Alien abductions. Plans to invade the Earth one day and exterminate the entire human race. The whole shebang. It's just... insane.

Who said they were supposed to be the highly advanced, highly-evolved versions of us? For all we know these so-called "alien lifeforms" could still be unevolved, protozoans (single-celled organisms). There is the chance, even if that chance is so minuscule in thought, that we are the highly-advanced, highly-evolved beings, isn't there?

Sure, unexplained events such as... *random topic comes to mind* such as crop circles have been an international phenomenon since the late 1970's according to wikipedia.org, but they've been proven to be the work of pranksters and hoaxers (does the term 'hoaxer' exist? O__o"). Point is, everything has an explaination if we look hard enough; but we can't always point to aliens for whatever weird and unexplainable behaviour that happens.

Yes, I do think it is a POSSIBILITY that there are lifeforms that exist in other planets. I just don't believe its the kind of alien lifeform the majority of us believe them to be.

Welp... today's the day!

Deadline day! It's the wee hours of the morning here and the sun hasn't started to creep up yet. I'm afraid that I think this might be my last entry here... such a shame really. It's been fun.

Eh, I'll still have another 18 or so more hours, maaaybe I could fit in another topic or two lol

But right now I think I'll take a bit of a nap... it's still too early for me to get up lol

Ciao <3

Pro/Anti-Lamination?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
To tell the truth, I really wasn't sure which side I was on when I first encountered this question. But now I'm beginning to get a grasp on my thoughts...

I didn't like the fact slavery was part of a future, and such a beautiful and advanced future at that. And that was basically what lamination is --slavery. But to a future of limited resources that has to fend for itself, it began to make a little bit of sense.

What was the point of keeping criminals behind bars and wasting their lives when help was needed and progress had to be done. I never approved of the death penalty. Human trafficking and child laborers would be a thing of the past. Lamination was the logical alternative and the slogan "putting criminals to good use" made its point.

Another plus is that, thanks to nano-technology fused with lamination, criminals will remain under the radar, beneficial and obedient, with practically zero chances of actually commiting another crime after de-lamination (after a criminals sentence has been served and returned to his/her original state).

As I've said some entries ago, the life of a LaMb is without a doubt an excruciating one;
"Life as a LaMB doesn't exactly imply the life of luxury. Sure, you stay young and youthful for hundreds of years to come. But to live life forbidden to speak out your thoughts (or at all for that matter), denied even the simpliest touch of comfort, and deprived of your free will... now that's torture..." -- blog entry, 'Silence of the LaMBs'

Such a life is the result of a heinous act -- therefore the punishment fits the crime.

So am I for or against lamination? I support it. Enough said.

If I had a LaMB...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

When I was 10-years-old I used to sneak out to play with my friends rather than complete my homework assignment which was due the following day.

At 13, I used to deliberately ignore my chores for the day and play video games (FFVII, FFVIII, and various Tomb Raider and Resident Evil titles).

Even now, there are times when I'd rather work on this blog than take my dog out for a walk. I'll admit, there are even some days when I don't even want to write so I'll just go and play Guitar Hero or something lol!

Procrastination -- it's human nature, right? Or is it just only me who has a tendency to ignore certain tasks/jobs?

I'm not lazy, mind you! I don't just drop my resposabilities on a whim and go have my fun ALL THE TIME. It's just a matter of priority. I know there are some of you out there who get what I'm saying (come on, you do, right?).

When I started this blog a couple of weeks back, I had some errands to attend to. Errands like, drive Mum around town, pay the bills, buy some groceries... that sort of thing. At the time, I would've given anything for anyone to take my place so I could just stay at home and continue with work and blog. It seemed so important to me at the time, and I wanted to put so much effort into it without distraction, y'know?

Seems kinda selfish once you think about it...

So today's question is: "If you were given access to a LaMB, what tasks would you have it perform for you?"

Having a LaMB to do all those things for me... hehehe! It's such a lovely thought, I think I'm seeing stars!

Hmm... what tasks would I have it perform?

Well, for starters... I'd make it drive my Mum around town whenever shopping/bill payment/etc. needs to be done (or whenever I want to go to a mall and shopping for myself lol!). LaMBs could make good bodyguards, right? Maybe. Maybe not..  not really allowed to attack another human. At least they could be great human-home security system lol like to watch over the house while you're away for long periods of time -- I could really handy.

I'd also make it help out around the house; simple chores, do the dishes, the laundry, cook lol! Cleaning up after my dog would be a relief! As much as I love my dog, I really hate cleaning up after it ><"

I'd probably even make it help out around the garden -- that way, I wouldn't have to hire a gardener anymore!

Hmm, I know I could think up of some more ideas...

So far I'm making the LaMB sound like some domestic worker lol I guess that's because it's only the little things I need done for me. Anything else I can do myself. It would be awesome if we could just go through the day, doing whatever we do, without worrying about the little things. Yea?

The Unveiling of Avril/Eve and Oded/Jack!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Tada!

Another photoshop project I've managed to complete last night. I gotta admit, these were not the original photos I intended on customizing, but then I just had enough of scrolling through hundreds of pictures and just work with what I've got. And here we are.

Good? Bad? Yes? No? I'm dying for some criticism, please. Anything to improve myself as a photoshop artist ^^"

So, whatcha think?

Okay, so I'l start with Avril/Eve... as we all know Avie's got long luxurious long hair, and because of that hair it was the most biggest problem transforming her to Eve. And with a lack of images released of Avril with her hair up... only made my task a lot harder lol. As you could tell with most of my images, all I basically do is copy and paste this persons hair onto that actor's portrait. But because of Eve's short hair, Avril's long locks is gonna show, aint it? So instead, I did the reverse; copy and pasted Avril's face onto Eve's portrait. Just changed the color contrast, added a little more shading (or perhaps... a little less O__O) and viola! Cest magnifique, eh?

And now Oded. The outcome turned out better than I predicted, actually... just gave Oded here a little trim here and there, pasted Jack's hair (again) and presto! Again, please don't get at me about the ear. I know it's weird-looking

Hmm, why am I having trouble with the guys' ear? LOL

Wallpapers galore!

It may have taken me a while, but it was well worth it -- more images from moi to you for you to enjoy <3

Personally, the third wallpaper (the one with Jack and Eve) is hands down my favorite and was by far the most difficult out of the three... ><" I'm just so happy with how they all turned out *tear drop**sniff*

Found another song... kinda... sorta

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

I was thinking back on a previous entry I made (Beauty for a Price), when I wondered who would commit a crime to stay young and beautiful? So far I've had no luck searching for such a person. So, I stopped looking and tried thinking outside the box. I just asked myself, what would make me want to stay young and beautiful, regardless of the consequences.

Well... I'd probably want to stay young and beautiful forever for my boyfriend perhaps. Or, maybe if I had a terminal condition and I'd knew I was dying, then maybe perhaps I'd turn to lamination as a solution. In all honesty, those are the only possibilities I could think of.

Then, it reminded me of a song a knew.

"Frozen" by Within Temptation

Read lyrics )
Okay okay okay... so maybe the song isn't 100% accurately related to the previous scenario I gave. But you've gotta admit, there are certain similarities. Especially the first couple of verses...

"I can't feel my senses
I just feel the cold
All colors seem to fade away
I can't reach my soul

I would stop running
If I knew there was a chance
It tears me apart to sacrifice it all
But I'm forced to let go"

The first verse could describe of how life would be for a LaMB. The second verse could describe regret -- for commiting such a crime in the first place; but at the time before commiting the crime there seemed to be no other choice.

Basically, all in all, the song is about protecting a loved one, but in order to protect that loved one, you'd have to make the ultimate sacrifice and do something you morally was wrong, but in the end you knew in your heart was right.

I don't know how well I've put the message out or how clear I'm describing it, but if there are any objections please kindly say so.
