Well, lookie here! I've managed to put up another entry after all lol
And today's
ramblings entry will pertain to extra-terrestrial life outside of our own planet.
In LaMB, the story is set on an alien planet called Cerra (25 light-years away from Earth) which is colonized by us humans from Earth. It's a possible future, I think. That one day mankind will venture off to some other planet and call it their home.
But we're here to talk about aliens. We've seen it all before, right? In movies. Comics. Video games. Books. And other media we could possibly think of. I'll admit , from an early age I haven't been a
true believer of visitors from outer space. The "Aliens" movie franchise was way too scary for me. "Species" wasn't any better. I couldn't even get though the second "Predator" movie. And "E.T." creeped me out (no offence was directed toward any fans of these films ^^")
But hey! It doesn't mean I'm not open to the idea of some form of alien life out there. The universe is a pretty big place after all, and we've --what? Only discovered just a small fraction of the area? Lol I wouldn't be surprised at all if there
is some form of life out there. I just don't believe that they exist in a way we image them to be.
Y'know. Little green men with huge eyes. Flying saucers. Alien abductions. Plans to invade the Earth one day and exterminate the entire human race. The whole shebang. It's just... insane.
Who said they were supposed to be the highly advanced, highly-evolved versions of us? For all we know these so-called "alien lifeforms" could still be unevolved, protozoans (single-celled organisms). There is the chance, even if that chance is so minuscule in thought, that
we are the highly-advanced, highly-evolved beings, isn't there?
Sure, unexplained events such as... *random topic comes to mind* such as crop circles have been an international phenomenon since the late 1970's according to
wikipedia.org, but they've been proven to be the work of pranksters and hoaxers (does the term
'hoaxer' exist? O__o"). Point is, everything has an explaination if we look hard enough; but we can't always point to aliens for whatever weird and unexplainable behaviour that happens.
Yes, I do think it is a POSSIBILITY that there are lifeforms that exist in other planets. I just don't believe its the kind of alien lifeform the majority of us believe them to be.
